Tuesday of November 15, 2022, marked Construct Education’s ninth year in the EdTech industry. Founded by Carl Dawson and Krishan Meetoo in November 2013, the company was born out of a desire to bridge the gap between education and employability using the latest technology.
During the day’s ‘Global All Hands’ celebratory event, Construct CEO David Philipps, launched ‘Construct 10’ which reflected on the company’s ‘Learning Journey’ from inception to the present and also conjured up excitement for fresh, new innovations planned for the next few years.
At the event, employees past and longstanding exchanged stories about Construct’s humble beginnings; from housing just one learning designer, a media producer, and a single technology expert in the building at the time. After listening to co-founder Krishan and former Chief Technology Officer Kwabena Aning, it became apparent that it was due to the staff’s willingness to embrace novelty and break out of their comfort zones by doing things they had never done before, that birthed the culture of innovation and excellence that we see at the company today.
As for many EdTech companies alike, 2020 was a monumental year for Construct. Revenue grew by over 50%, and profit continued its positive trajectory. This growth and solid financial performance caught the eye of Australian online education company, Online Education Services (OES), and Construct became an OES subsidiary in November 2020, still operating under its own brand.
As we enter our 10th year, we are proud to have one of the most significant instructional design, course production, and learning technology benches in the world.
After pioneering the OPM/OPX fee-for-service model in 2013, it is rewarding to identify partners that stretch from California to Auckland, be it NGOs that are tackling poverty and trafficking, or elite universities that span 15 states in America. Thus, to marry our goals of continued growth with the needs of the client and to support their growth through their brand identity, is as important now as it ever was.
As we look forward to 2023, we believe even more strategic opportunities exist for us to continue our mission of enabling opportunities through transformative learning experiences. As we build on our experience of delivering tens of thousands of courses, you can expect the launch of some exciting new ventures showcased in Construct 10, all with the aim of enriching the EdTech landscape as we gather together industry experts to improve the quality and accessibility of online learning.
